Since 2001, the sales of the Aflac Holiday Duck has raised more that three million dollars. This is the first year that I have heard of this. I am amazed to find out that it has been going on that long. I was so impressed to find out that not only do all net profits go for pediatric cancer treatments and research but they also hold a contest amongst their patients to design the Duck! How cool is that? This year, Aflac held a contest among their patients at the Aflac Cancer Center in Atlanta to determine who would design the 2012 Duck. Monica Sandoval, 16 year old from Winder, GA was the winner. She has been been battling leukemia for 4 years.
Do you have gift purchase between $10-$15 that you need to make this holiday season? The Aflac Holiday Duck retails for $10 for the 6 inch duck and $15 for the 10 inch duck. They can be found at over 600 participating Macy's stores across the country. Have you seen the Aflac Duck at your local store? Click the link for more information.
My Aflack Holiday Duck was sitting on my dinning room table. A few times I would squeeze it so I could here it squawk the typical, "Aflack" sound that the Duck makes in his commercials. Before I knew it, my cat Aslan had jumped up and taken the Duck off of the table and made it his Duck. We are thinking that he thought the Duck was calling his name, "Aslan" vs. "Aflack"? I don't know but here are a few pictures of his new toy.
You can also participate in the Twitter party to help raise awareness about pediatric cancer and the Aflac Holiday Duck. There will be fun prize giveaways (always a given at a Twitter Party) and true to their promise, Aflac will donate $2 directly to pediatric cancer research for ever tweet with the #AflacKids hashtags! I am so loving this.
